Age: 39

Sex: male

Date: 26 Oct 2019

Place: Bishport Avenue, Bishopsworth

Marc Millett was found stabbed at a flat in Bishport Avenue, Bishopsworth on 26 October 2019.

His 45-year-old brother was tried but acquitted.

Marc Millett and his brother had shared the council flat.

Marc Millett's brother had returned home on 26 October 2019 to find Marc Millett dead. He then called the emergency services at 3.45pm to say that Marc Millett had overdosed on drugs and was 'long gone'.

However, after the police arrived at the flat they found that Marc Millett had been stabbed in the heart. He had had a single stab wound to the heart that was 10cm deep and had caused catastrophic blood loss, most of which was internal.

Marc Millett's brother was then charged with having murdered Marc Millett between 24 and 27 October 2019.

At the trial it was heard that there had been incidents involving other people previously and that damage had been reported there. It was also heard that on one occasion that Marc Millett had been injured with a machete but that he had refused to make a formal complaint to the police.

It was also heard that on 26 October 2019 that Marc Millett's brother had sent a text message to their mother saying that Marc Millett must have taken 100 tablets as well as his own methadone, and that he couldn't believe it.

When crime scene investigators examined the flat they found a knife, but there was no DNA on it. They also found spots of blood at the flat.
